Our Community Services program, known as Friends Serving Friends, has been serving the Hampton/ Newport News communities for over 20 years. We feed and clothe the homeless and anyone in need. We provide Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets to families in the community, as well as assist families in need with financial aid.
In 2024, our humble church family of volunteers:
- Served over 3000 hot, “street” meals (This is done every Sunday and volunteers are welcome!)
- Partnered with Four Oaks Homeless Day Center providing meals every 2nd Sunday of the month
- Purchased groceries and bus passes for families and individuals
- Provided blankets, coats, shoes and clothing to those in need.
- Sponsored a family who was devastated after a Thanksgiving time fire, for Christmas.
